What is an inactive account?

  • Updated

Based on the Dutch civil law (Burgerlijk Wetboek Boek 1), an account should be considered inactive if Qonto did not notice any activity within the last 20 years, including:

  • Transactions (excluding the debit of fees and commission of any kind)
  • Successful log in attempts
  • Contacts to customer support from the account owner

What happens in case of inactivity?

Billing cycle

Automatically, after 20 years without contacts, transactions or Successful log in attempts, Qonto will consider the account inactive and continue the current billing cycle you committed to.

💡 Your subscription, cards, and additional fees will be billed according to your plan and options.

An email will be sent to the owner and admins of your account, to inform you about the inactivity.

Remaining funds in the account

If the account is still inactive, Qonto has no obligation to transfer unclaimed funds to the State.
